Editorial policy
How we research, write and update our guides, and what we have not done yet.
Our principles
- Accuracy first. We only publish facts we can source, and we link to those sources.
- Clear language. We write calmly and without judgement, for readers who may be going through a hard time.
- Independence. No treatment center pays us or influences what we write. See our advertising disclosure.
- Honesty about limits. We say clearly what we do not know, and we never invent statistics, people or credentials.
How we research
Our guides are compiled from:
- information that treatment centers publish themselves, such as their websites and price pages;
- public directories and listings;
- government sources, such as Thai public-health bodies and official helplines;
- clinical and public-health sources, such as the World Health Organization.
We have not yet visited treatment centers in person, and we do not carry out inspections or audits. Prices are shown as published by centers at the time we checked them. They can change at any time, so always confirm the current price and what it includes directly with a center before paying anything.
When a figure comes from a commercial source (for example, a company that compares rehab prices), we say so.
How we write
Each guide starts with a short answer, then explains the detail. We use headings, tables and checklists so the page is easy to scan, and we link every key fact to its source. Our live guides do not name or rank private treatment centers. Government facilities and public hospitals may be named for information.
Medical review
We are building a medical review board. We are looking for independent clinicians in three roles: a licensed psychiatrist, an addiction medicine specialist and an accredited addiction counsellor.
Until a qualified clinician has reviewed a guide, it is marked "Medical review: pending". When a guide has been reviewed, we will show the reviewer's name, credentials and the review date on that page. We will never describe a page as medically reviewed when it has not been.
How we keep guides up to date
Every guide shows a "Last updated" date. We aim to recheck prices and helpline numbers at least every six months, and sooner if we learn that something has changed. Crisis numbers are checked before every major update of the site.
Corrections
If you spot a mistake, please email hello@example.com with the page address and what you think is wrong. We will check it, correct genuine errors promptly and update the page's "Last updated" date. Significant corrections will be noted on the page.
Use of AI tools
AI tools may assist us with drafting, summarising research and checking consistency. Every page is edited by a human, and every fact we publish is checked against its source by a person before it goes live. AI tools are not used to give medical advice, and AI output is never published without human editing.

Not medical advice
This site provides general information, not medical advice. Please talk to a doctor or another qualified professional about your own situation. If you are in immediate danger, call your local emergency number or see our crisis help page.
