About Thai Recovery Guide
An independent editorial guide to addiction treatment in Thailand, written for people abroad and the families who support them.
What we do
Thai Recovery Guide publishes clear, sourced guides for people in the UK, Australia, the US and elsewhere who are considering addiction treatment in Thailand, and for the families helping them decide. We explain costs, locations, types of treatment and the questions worth asking before you commit.
We are not a treatment center, we do not sell treatment, and we do not take bookings. We are not a substitute for medical advice: please talk to a doctor about your own situation.
Why we started
Most English-language information about rehab in Thailand is published by treatment centers themselves or by websites paid to refer patients. We wanted a calmer, more transparent starting point: one that shows where its information comes from and says clearly what it does not know.
Our independence
We currently accept no payments, referral fees or commissions from treatment centers. No center can pay to appear on this site or to change what we write. Read our advertising disclosure for details.
How we work
- Our guides are compiled from centers' published information, public directories, and government and clinical sources. We link to our sources on every guide.
- We have not yet visited treatment centers in person. Prices are shown as published by centers and can change.
- Every page is written and edited by people. Medical review is pending: we are building a review board of qualified clinicians, and each page will show who reviewed it once that has happened.
Our editorial policy explains our sourcing, corrections and use of AI tools in full.
